April 20 - Dogs Anyone?

Steve and I took the opportunity for a quick getaway to Grand Rapids during spring break.  (Once the snow cleared!)  It's amazing, but as many times as we've been there, we can still always find something new and interesting to experience!  We happened to stumble upon this cute little hot dog place downtown somewhere, and so we stopped in for lunch.  The owners were really sweet - in fact they were from the Grosse Pointes and had just moved to Grand Rapids and opened their business.  It was a fun little stop in what was a very fun weekend with my sweets!

April 18 - You Have Got to be Kidding Me!

Yes, you read the date correctly!  APRIL 18th - we are not on Christmas break, we are on Easter break!  Easter - right around the corner from spring!  APRIL for goodness sake!  And it looks like THIS outside. . .

It continued to snow for a good part of the day!

April 13 - It's all about the drama!

It was so fun today to sit back and watch my students plan a "dramatic presentation" that showed some of  the changes that were brought about because of  progress made in the early 1900's.  I almost laughed out loud as I saw this group do a scene with a repeat of with and without the vaccine for tuberculosis.  The little guy in the maroon shirt dies (quite dramatically I might add) because the doctor, standing in the red shirt, couldn't cure him.  BUT then the scene was replayed and the young man was healed and jumped up and hugged the doctor.  It was a hoot!  I love to see my kidlets learning, having fun, AND being dramatic!!

April 11 - Grocery Shopping

As many of you know, Steve is really into couponing now that he's at home trying to wait patiently for a new job.  WELL, to make his coupon organization easier, we took pictures of all the aisles as we went grocery shopping tonight.  He said that way he would be able to organize his notebook according to the aisles. . .

It was slightly more tedious than a normal coupon shopping adventure, so to break the tension a bit, I turned around to find Steve holding up the grape juice to check its price - - the funny thing was, there was no price reader in sight - - and the even funnier thing was a lady walked by as he was standing there and she had the most puzzled look on her face.  It was priceless!

April 8 - You're a Winner!

Woo Hoo!  I won tickets to the Home Show in Novi!  Free tickets!  I won free tickets!!  We had to go to the station to pick them up, and then we got to go to the Home Show at the Novi Expo center FREE!

It was pretty cool, but truth be told, I wouldn't have paid to go.  

It was neat 'cause it was free, that's about it!

April 2 - Fun with "Old Friends"

On Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to get together with a group of "old friends" for dinner and dessert.  The interesting part was that at first glance, they weren't MY "old friends," but rather my parents' friends.  After about 10 minutes though, they became "my friends."  We had wonderful evening together, and I seriously don't remember laughing quite so much!

April 1 - End of SAT's

SAT week is always a little "blah," but it's always good to have it over!
